Finish Off Your Weight Loss Journey With Body Contouring

When you’re working to lose weight, there are lots of things that can keep you from getting rid of those last few pounds. You can be doing all the right things: exercise, weight lifting, proper diet and rest, but still hit a plateau where you can’t seem to shed weight where you want to. If you’re serious about finally getting to your target weight, body contouring is a safe and noninvasive way to reach your goals.

Residents of the East Memphis and Germantown, Tennessee areas looking to shed those final pounds have somewhere they can go to get help. Kenneth Thompson, MD, and the team at A Beautiful You Medical Spa have been treating patients since 2003 with a variety of procedures to help them look their best, including body contouring.

What is body contouring?

Body contouring, or body sculpting, is the term used for several methods of removing stubborn fat to help you look your best. It covers treatment for those looking to fine-tune their shape after massive weight loss all the way down to those just wanting to target a few stubborn spots.

It can be done surgically or invasively (liposuction, various tucks and lifts) or in noninvasive ways, such as lipolysis (the process of breaking down fats).

Lipolysis is a common method if you’re just looking to get that last bit of fat off and tighten the skin in that area. A BMI of 30 or less is best for this kind of treatment. If that’s what you’re looking for, we offer SculpSure®, which provides safe, targeted fat reduction on an outpatient basis.

What is SculpSure?

SculpSure is a type of laser lipolysis that uses concentrated light energy to heat and eliminate fat cells. The concentrated heat causes fat cells to die off. Those cells are then removed from the body through your lymphatic system — a part of your immune system that eliminates waste from your body, among other things. SculpSure is effective on men and women and works on a number of body types, mainly targeting the abdomen, thighs, and back.

SculpSure treatments begin with you seated in a comfortable, reclined position. We mark the area to be treated and wrap the SculpSure device around you like a belt. The device kills fat cells underneath the skin, targeting only the area to be treated. The whole procedure takes around 25 minutes, and you can even read or nap during treatment.

What happens after treatment?

Once your treatment is finished, you may experience some soreness and stiffness along with mild bruising, but there is little to no recovery time. While you can expect to start seeing results as soon as 6 weeks after treatment, it usually takes up to 12 weeks to see full results. Multiple treatments may be necessary, and they can start 6-12 weeks after your first procedure.

So, if you’re looking for a noninvasive way to remove that stubborn fat, SculpSure is a safe way to reach your goals. If you’re ready to get started, call our office at 901-683-8220 or book an appointment online today.
