There are several questions that most people have when it comes to laser hair removal and post treatment. As a hair removal patient with A Beautiful You Med Spa, I am going to offer some insight on what to expect after a treatment. There are several questions most people ask me about my experience, the top three being: What happens afterwards? How long until the hair falls out? Can you shave in between treatments?
What happens afterwards?
Because you are being treated with a laser, your skin can be a little sensitive to sun exposure. You will want to be sure that you either stay indoors, cover the treated area, or apply a heavier broad spectrum sunscreen. I noticed slight redness but no pain after my treatment. The darkness of the hair follicle will begin to fade more and more with each treatment as the hair grows out and the follicle quits producing hair.
How many days after laser hair removal does the hair fall out?
The hair will slowly be presented to the surface of your skin and then will fall out. The length of time depends on the cycle of your hair growth. After several treatments, the follicle will cease to produce and the hair will disappear! The darker the hair, the more treatment it will need. An average hair removal package will include 5-7 treatments which are spaced 6 weeks apart. Can I shave after laser hair removal?
Absolutely. You should shave the area being treated before your appointment and therefore will not need to shave for a little while after treatment, however it is safe to shave whenever you see fit!
