REDUCE LIP BRUISING AFTER INJECTIONS

Pre Injection

Because you will be getting injected, you will need to avoid blood thinner such as wine, Advil, fish oil, and vitamin E. Thinner blood will make the area more prone to pain, bruising, and bleeding. We recommend discontinuing these activities 10 days prior.

Two days before your treatment, avoid waxing, bleaching, tweezing, or using hair removal cream on the area that will be treated.

If you are prone to facial cold sores, there is a risk that the injection puncture could contribute to another eruption of cold sores. Please consult with your physician assistant before receiving treatment.

Ice can be used right before the injection to reduce swelling and pain as it will numb the injection site and minimize swelling.

Post Injection

Once your lips have a few days to “calm down” after your treatment, they look perfect right? But what about in the hours after injecting. There is a risk that within two days after receiving lip fillers you may experience bruising and swelling. Products that contain Arnica will help to minimize this.

Arnica is an herb that grows mainly in Siberia and central Europe, and North America. It is most commonly used for pain caused by surgery, sore throat, and other conditions. Arnica is also used for bleeding, bruising, and swelling.
