At the Office

Lorrie is the co-founder of ABY, and she loves being in the aesthetics industry because every day is so unique and different. Lorrie is one of those people who can talk to a rock.  Meeting new people and consulting them regarding their aesthetic needs is her favorite part of each day. As a consultant, Lorrie offers her clients a unique combination of warmth, experience, knowledge & personal attention.

Outside of the Office

Lorrie was born & raised in SE Louisianna and graduated from LSU.  Lorrie was a strong athlete growing up and still to this day loves sports.  Lorrie is an “outdoors” person and loves to experience new places, cultures, and foods.  Before founding ABY with her husband JL, she was an advertising exec in broadcasting (TV and Rado) and has lived in six states. Family (including fur family members) and faith are everything to Lorrie.

At the Office

Dr. Thompson has been our medical director since 2009. In addition to working as an ER physician, he’s the medical director of Desoto SWAT & Jail. When he’s working at ABY, you’ll find him doing Botox injections, consulting with clients, and playing practical jokes on the staff. He is board-certified by the ABMS and has completed many advanced training courses, including Alma Laser, BTL Aesthetics, and The Clear Skin Institute.

Outside of the Office

Dr. Thompson attended medical school at UAB. He spent 11 years in the Army Reserves with deployments to Iraq, Afghanistan & Haiti. Dr. Thompson is a classic car enthusiast, an instrument-rated pilot, and a super-cringe dad of 3 teens. It goes without saying that he’s also an Alabama football fan.

At the Office

After 25 years in the broadcasting industry as an on-air talent in addition to various management roles, JL & his wife Lorrie purchased Sona MedSpa’s of Memphis & Little Rock in 2005. Eleven years later, they became A Beautiful You Medical Spa. “I love the aesthetics industry & making positive changes in our clients’ lives. I’m most proud of our staff; each one is like a family member to us. We believe in investing in the best technology & resources to make the biggest life-changing improvements for our clients.”

Outside of the Office

JL is originally from Kansas City, MO. He lived all over the country with his radio career until it landed him in Memphis, where he chose to remain. JL is a fan of College & NFL football. His favorite teams are the Razorbacks, the Saints, and the KC Chiefs. He’s been happily married to Lorrie for 31 years & they’re the parents of 3 sons. If JL ever completes a task that was not on his To-Do List, he will write it there so that he can experience the dopamine rush that comes from crossing it off.

At the Office

We call her Lo. Lauren has been with us for many years; she has literally grown up with us and matured into an amazing person and employee. She is our front office coordinator. She knows how this place runs better than anyone. She has done it all over the years except for treatments. She loves skincare and talking about skin care products. She is one of our product experts.

Outside of the Office

Lauren was raised in Memphis, TN. She grew up playing competitive soccer. She is an avid outdoor person who loves hanging out with friends and her dog, working out, playing disc golf, and kayaking. She is always on the go with her family or friends.

At the Office

Nicole (Coco) came to us from a large dentist’s office, and her skills transferred seamlessly! Coco is one of the smiling faces at our front desk. She’s usually the first to grab the phone, a party-planning extraordinaire & a social media marketing whiz. Coco’s toxic office trait is cleaning.

Outside of the Office

Nicole, her 7-year-old son, and her husband moved to Memphis last year. Previously, she lived in Louisiana, Colorado, Georgia & Hawaii! Coco is addicted to volunteering, so DO NOT ask her to be on your committee. When she’s not over-extending herself, she likes playing tennis and going to estate sales to buy clothes & jewelry that only she can pull off.

At the Office

Previously, Michelle was an admin at a logistics company, but she was inspired to become an Aesthetician after her son was diagnosed with a chronic dry skin condition. Now, she spends her days at the office helping ABY clients with their skin concerns. If you’ve ever had a treatment from Michelle, then you know how informative & tender she is with her clients! Due to her son’s condition, Michelle has unique expertise regarding dry & mature skin, but she loves treating all skin types & concerns! She has completed many advanced training courses, including Alma Laser, BTL Aesthetics, and The Clear Skin Institute.

Outside of the Office

Michelle is from Utah but has been in MS/TN for the past 12 years. She is a big Utah Utes fan. Married 24 years (and counting) to Lance, and they have 3 kiddos and 2 dogs. Michelle is extremely involved in her church and community. She loves her family, Jesus, Legos, Star Wars, and Mountain Dew. (Her only vice)

At the Office

Diana is from Hungary, where the aesthetics industry is very advanced. Diana had a formal education at Budapest University in Finance and Economy but always knew she wanted to be in the aesthetics industry. It’s obvious she’s doing what she loves. She is our senior aesthetician; she is knowledgeable, highly efficient, and thorough. She’s also a team player—she’s experienced with treating all skin concerns! She has completed many advanced training courses, including Alma Laser, BTL Aesthetics, and The Clear Skin Institute.

Outside of the Office

Diana has been in Memphis for over 12 years. She loves meeting new people. She’s a single mother of 2 daughters & loves to spend time with them. She is a European coffee and dessert lover, and in her free time, she travels home and across Europe to experience the food and culture. She brings a straight-to-point sense of humor. She is super smart and is an aspiring Real Estate Mogul.

At the Office

Rubi has been an esthetician since 2015. Rubi is bilingual and is trained in all skin types and procedures here at ABY. Our clients love her gentle and easy touch. She is a team player a hard worker, and loves making people feel better by helping them look better. She is always eager to learn the newest technology and techniques. Rubi is the first to jump in on a comedic Instagram post, providing plenty of fun and laughter around the office. She has completed many advanced training courses, including Alma Lasers & BTL Aesthetics.

Outside of the Office

Rubi is married and has been with us for over 5 years and counting. She is a “Jeep Girl.” She loves her Jeep! Rubi is big on spending time with her family; she loves all things Girly: shopping, manicures, pedicures, and working out.

At the Office

She’s been an esthetician since 2016 and came to us with a medical spa experience. She was inspired to become an esthetician after learning how to take care of her own acne skin & now loves that she gets to help others feel & look their best! Chelsea gained extensive experience performing Hydrafacial treatments in addition to Clearlift and microneedling. She loves customizing skincare products for our clients.

Outside of the Office

Chelsea is a Memphis native. In her free time, she loves to hit up the foodie scene and try out new restaurants. She also enjoys reading & working out. She and her boyfriend and their dog reside in the East Memphis area.

At the Office

Beth began as a consultant with ABY/Sona Medspa of Memphis in 2007. She left in 2014 for a period to try the pharma industry. Returning to ABY, as she really loves aesthetics. Beth has been with us for 16 of the 19+ years we have been in business. She is the fun and spontaneity that makes each day creative and different. You’ll find Beth here at the office doing way too many things all at once.

Outside of the Office

If you don’t recognize the accent, Beth is from Georgia and has been in Memphis since 2005. Most of her free time is spent hauling her 3 kids around to their various activities, but she has perfected the art of sneaking away without any of them realizing it until it’s too late. She has too many interests & hobbies to list, many of them too weird to share anyway!

Megan is a Board-Certified Family Nurse Practitioner with over 14 years of nursing experience. She graduated with honors from the University of Central Arkansas with her Bachelors and Masters of Science in Nursing. She is a member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. She has a broad spectrum of professional experience in acute care medicine, general, vascular and cardiothoracic surgery, advanced wound care and pharmaceutical sales and marketing. Megan has always been passionate about making patients feel their best. One of the quotes she loves the most is from Audrey Hepburn “Beauty is being the best possible version of yourself, inside and out.” She was given an opportunity to pursue aesthetics medicine and she could not think of anything more exciting. Megan says the most professional satisfaction she has is giving patients their self-confidence back.

Outside of the Office

Megan was born and raised in Eastern Arkansas. She has been in the tri-state area of AR, TN and MS her whole life. She is married to Dr. Leslie Stewart who serves on the board of Shriners Children’s Hospital. This great philanthropy keeps them both busy traveling and volunteering to support the hospital system throughout the US, Canada and Mexico. Together they enjoy traveling, hunting, fishing and spending time with their friends and family.
