Are you tired of shaving your legs and getting nicks in your skin that bleed so easily? Perhaps you’re fed up with waxing that dark hair above your lips.
If you’re a man, you may feel embarrassed at the sight of your shoulders and back, where you have so much hair that nicknames abound when you take off your shirt at the pool.
Women spend 72 days over a normal life span shaving their legs. That’s 1,728 hours! The good news is that you no longer have to continue shaving, waxing, or tweezing to remove unwanted hair.
Laser hair removal is a permanent answer for both men and women bothered with unsightly excess hair, saving time and effort you can put toward better use.
Our expert medical aestheticians at A Beautiful You Medical Spa, working under the guidance of board-certified physician Kenneth Thompson, MD, are ready to relieve you of the burden of dealing with unwanted hair. Using modern laser hair removal technology, we help you achieve your goal.
Even though it’s for cosmetic purposes, laser hair removal is a medical procedure, and should be performed under the aegis of a board-certified physician. You’re in safe hands here.
What areas of my body are appropriate for laser hair removal?
Laser hair removal is effective for both men and women. We can remove unwanted hair on your:
- Underarm area
- Bikini line
No more plucking chin hairs or trying to shave around the bikini line and chafing or cutting yourself accidentally. For men, we can give you that smooth chest if you have unsightly scraggly hairs here and there.
How does laser hair removal work?
We use a special patented laser designed for hair removal. The laser’s energy sends quick pulses of light to the targeted area. It heats the hair follicles that are responsible for hair growth.
Your hair contains pigment that absorbs the laser light. This process damages the root of the hair follicle so that the hair dies. Because not all hair grows at the same time at the same rate, you need more than one laser treatment to achieve smooth skin.
How long does a laser hair removal procedure take?
Time varies widely based on the size of the area being treated. For a very small area such as above your upper lip, it takes less than a minute for the laser to do its work. On the other hand, removing leg hair takes about an hour.
When is the best time to have laser hair removal?
Now is the perfect time to schedule laser hair removal.
You should stay out of the sun for at least six weeks before and after your appointments. Since you’ll likely need more than one appointment — especially if you’re doing a large area such as your legs — starting in winter and early spring makes sense. You’ll be free of your unwanted hair by summer.
